Today our main task was to build a tree house for Sophie so that she could watch the moon. And of course we first needed to learn more about what she was going to see from the tree house. So first we learnt about the different moon phases and, most importantly, why we saw them as such. It was a great way to put to work what we had learnt about light. We then tested our new knowledge recreating the moon phases on Oreo cookies and arranging them in the right order. What a delicious way to learn! Afterwards we learnt what a crater was, how they came about, and even made our own moon craters, using the opportunity to refresh what we had learnt about gravity and friction. Now we were ready to build the tree house and watch the moon!
We also continued our EQ development practicing how we could recognize emotions of others looking at their facial expressions. It's a critical first step in developing empathy - the cornerstone of social skills. Our Masters managed this task very well, which is fantastic! We are going to leverage it in the coming workshops.
